Bangladesh fest playing host to 5 Iran shorts

The Int’l Inter University Short filmfest in Bangladesh is hosting lineup of Iran shorts.

The International Inter University Short Film Festival (IIUSFF) in Bangladesh has been hosting a lineup of Iranian short films.

First on the list of the short flicks that have been screening at the 12th edition of the event is ‘The Note’ (Yaddasht) directed by Siavash Eidani-Asl.

The film has already attended a number of global film fests, including the Nahal International Student Short Film Festival in Iran, the International Silent Film Festival in Mexico and the Davis International Film Festival in the US.

According to an earlier report by ifilm, Mohammadreza Misaqi’s ‘The Wooden Doll’ is another Iranian title in contention at the film event.

‘17 Hours’ (17 Sa’at) by Pedram Nouri, ‘Shoe, Mountain’ (Kafsh, Kouh) by Media Narimani and Mohammad Sharifi-Asl’s ‘Oh Father’ (Oh Pedar) are the rest of the shorts running at the festival.

The international platform of IIUSFF is dedicated to young filmmakers who want to showcase their works.

The event aims to promote the works by university-going filmmakers.

Organized by Dhaka University Film Society, the IIUSFF launched on June 19 and it is set to wrap up on June 20, 2020.
